@ Folkestone

Sittingbourne under 8’s travelled to Folkestone for games against Canterbury and the hosts. The first game saw the boys up against Canterbury and they hit the ground running with great support play and even better defensive work to lead at half time 5-3 with tries from Sam Gash, Bryn Scholefield, Finley Williams(2) and Lewis Fearn. The second half got even better with 4 more tries with Bryn Scholefield adding 2 and Jack Miller(2) with the final score 9-5.

The second game was against Folkestone, the team’s defence work was outstanding stopping countless tries early on to be level at the break 4-4 with tries from Jack Miller(2), Thomas Kirk and Sam Gash. With some encouraging words from the coaches at half time the boys went try crazy scoring 6 more with only conceding 2 with scores from Finley Williams, Thomas Fassenfelt, Lewis Fearn(2) and two more from Sam Gash finishing off a fabulous day of rugby.

Westcombe Park and Dover @ Sittingbourne

The Under 8’s had a tough day with games against Dover and two Westcombe Park teams. In the first game against Westcombe Park A Sittingbourne won in the best performance of the season so far 10-6 with some fantastic tries from Felix Bessick, Thomas Kirk, Daniel Densham (2), Thomas Fassenfelt (2), Samuel Gash (2), Jack Miller and Cameron Kendall, some superb tagging and brilliant all round teamwork.

Game 2 was against a very good Dover side, the team continuing their great work from the first game worked really hard drawing a super match 4-4 with tries from Bryn Scholefield, Thomas Fassenfelt and two more from Samuel Gash.

Game 3 Vs Westcombe Park B was a tight encounter with the game going end to end. With tiring players Sittingbourne finished the first half 3-2 behind, but with hard work and determination they pulled off a stunning 5-4 victory with tries from Daniel Densham, Samuel Gash, Thomas Fassenfelt, Lewis Fearn and Finley Williams.
