(28 January 2012) GCCC AGM Monday 26 March 2012 at Club. QUIZ NIGHT SOLD OUT This promises to be a great evening with cash prizes, a raffle, “Heads-and-Tails”, etc. and will raise funds for the Club, particularly for the Presentation Evenings. Tickets are £5 per head with tables of up to eight. Please get a table together and book it with Kate Ritchie on 07947191852 or kate.ritchie1@virginmedia.com. The flier can be downloaded here. (14 January 2012) CHRISTMAS PARTY Sittingbourne Rugby Team Mini/Midi’s on Sunday 18th December was training as usual followed by a special visit from Santa, all the way from Lapland. Pictures are here. Approximately 60 children aged 6-11, trained at the Gore Court Cricket Club for training as normal on Sunday, followed by sausage, chips, beans and crackers! The children listened to Christmas music and were singing and dancing along. Then Santa made a special pre-Christmas visit to Sittingbourne Rugby Club, where each child in turn had a special wish for him. The children were full of fun and laughter. Special thanks to Kate Ritchie for all the organising and parents of the club for helping make the kids have a special time. Wishing everyone at Sittingbourne Rugby Club a very special Christmas and very best wishes for the New Year. (18 December 2011) RFU GRAND DRAW Tickets will shortly be available from coaches for the 2011/12 RFU Grand Draw Raffle. These cost £1 each of which 90p goes to the Club and 10p to the RFU. First prize is £10,000 and 2nd and 3rd prizes are limited edition Tag Heuer watches worth £1,395. This is a great way to raise money for the Club and we hope you will support us in this. Revised fixtures at fixtures page. (27-Oct-2011) WASPS COACHCLASS 24-25 OCTOBER 2011 Wasps will be holding CoacHclass sessions for U7-U12 and U13-U16 on Monday and Tuesday 24-25 October 2011 at Sittingbourne. Details can be found here. Costs are £55 for U7-U12 and £65 for U13-U16. There is a 10% discount fo rmore than 10 players in any one age group. (25 September 2011) SUBSCRIPTIONS AND REGISTRATION For the 2011/12 season we are maintaining subscriptions at their previous level - AGAIN!! However, we are removing the option of weekly payments as these are proving more and more difficult to collect on a regular basis. Subscriptions are £40 for the season (32 weeks) or £20 for a half season (Sept-Dec and Jan-Apr). Subscriptions can be paid by Standing Order in 4 x £10 payments, but this must be in place by 31 October 2011. The subscriptions are our main source of income. They fund purchase of coaching and playing equipment including match shirts, training of coaches in coaching, refereeing, First Aid, etc., entrance to tournaments, presentation awards and the many other activities that are vital for continued running af a successful club. As such the subscription is amazingly good value. Players must also register as members of Gore Court Cricket Club and membership fees have been increased only slightly since last year. Full details of subs and registration can be found on the Registration page. (23-July-2011) COACH DEVELOPMENT DAYS (CDD) For the 2011/12 season, the Skills Development Days (SDDs) will be replaced by four Coach Development Dates (CDD). On each of these, lead coaches from two age groups from each club will meet up for a course in advanced coaching techniques and issues. The CDDs will cover Tag, Mini and Midi levels and the transition from Midi to Youth rugby. These will take place on 16 October, 27 November 2011 and 15 January, 26 February 2012. These are non-fixture days and the squads will train at home. Details can be downloaded here. (9-July-2011) TAG COMPETITION FINALS Sittingbourne teams did well in the Kent Tag Rugby Finals. Bredgar won the Shield in the Fair Play Competition and St Margarets won the Bowl in the Finals competiton. Results here. (18 June 2011)
